Go Confess
Go Confess is The Internet's Department of Minor Moral Failures.
You confess a harmless thing you probably should not have done, strangers judge it, and the Department turns the whole unnecessary situation into official paperwork.
For the full institutional explanation, see About Go Confess.
Participation is for adults 18+.
Apparently adulthood did not eliminate questionable judgment.
Your own minor, harmless failure.
Procrastination. Questionable purchases. Avoidable awkwardness. Petty shortcuts. Saying “I'm on my way” while showing absolutely no evidence of leaving.
Not serious harm. Not accusations. Not somebody else's behavior.
For the full boundaries, see the Community Guidelines.
No.
You participate under a public username. Your email and private account information are not part of the public case file.
Choose your username accordingly. The Department keeps records.
No.
Confessing and filing a case are free.
Poor judgment remains widely available at no charge.
Your confession becomes a public case and enters judgment.
Eligible users can choose:
A full jury requires 12 valid judgments.
Twelve strangers having opinions about your minor failure was determined to be administratively sufficient.
Five days from publication.
The case stays open for the full five days, even if twelve strangers have already judged it. Every judgment received before the deadline counts.
If the five-day deadline arrives without a full jury, the case closes as:
TOO MINOR TO PROSECUTE
Apparently, public outrage was insufficient.
The case is dismissed.
CASE DISMISSED
The jury was evenly divided, and even this institution declines to manufacture certainty where none exists.
No.
Once your judgment has been successfully submitted, it is final.
Please deploy your opinion responsibly.
No.
The Department recognizes the potential conflict of interest.
A SENTENCED case receives a Penance Order.
The Internet may suggest what you deserve. The Department handles the final paperwork.
Community members can suggest penances and vote on suggestions.
The final Penance Order is assigned through the Department's process rather than automatically handing the case to whichever stranger yelled loudest.
There are limits to democracy.
Penance can be inconvenient, awkward, embarrassing, impractical, expensive, or unnecessarily dramatic.
It cannot require real harm, dangerous behavior, illegal activity, harassment, coercion, doxxing, exploitation, or similar abuse.
The standard is:
Safe from real harm. Not safe from discomfort.
You can accept your Penance Order and, allegedly, work on it.
If BRIBE THE INTERNET is available for your case, there may also be another administrative route.
After a SENTENCED verdict, you may be offered the option to make an optional payment and avoid serving your Penance Order.
A successful Bribe does not erase your confession.
It does not reverse the SENTENCED verdict.
It does not persuade the Internet that you were innocent.
It simply records that the Department has certain administrative weaknesses.
Yes, but only before the first accepted judgment.
Once judgment begins, ordinary withdrawal closes.
If there is a genuine privacy or safety issue after that point, use the reporting or support route instead.
Before publication, confessions are checked for safety and whether they actually belong on Go Confess.
You may be asked to fix something correctable, or the confession may be blocked if the subject itself does not belong here.
The Department wants minor moral failures.
It does not need jurisdiction over your entire life.
Report it.
Reports are reviewed by staff. Reporting something does not guarantee removal, but it does put the matter on the Department's desk.
Please use this power for actual rule-breaking rather than differences in taste, humor, or personal irritation.
Yes.
If a suggestion crosses the Community Guidelines, report it.
Community downvotes may also reduce its visibility, but downvotes and safety reports are not the same thing.
Yes.
Account deletion removes your public profile and active public content, subject to limited records Go Confess may need to retain for things like safety, disputes, payments, or legal obligations.
The Internet may forget eventually.
The accounting department is less sentimental.
No.
Go Confess is entertainment.
It is not therapy, emergency support, medical advice, legal advice, law enforcement, or an actual court.
The robes are metaphorical.
Do not file it here.
If somebody may be in immediate danger, contact appropriate local emergency or crisis support.
The Department is dramatically underqualified for those matters.

Come guilty. Leave forgiven, sentenced, or slightly poorer.
